Padel tournaments explained: Premier Padel, the FIP Tour and the UK scene

Padel's tournament structure can look confusing from the outside. Here's how the main tours fit together, from the world's best players at Premier Padel down to the British domestic circuit.
Premier Padel: the top tier
Premier Padel is the world's top professional circuit. Its 2026 calendar has 26 tournaments in 18 countries, in four tiers:
- Majors (four events: Doha, Rome, Paris and Acapulco), with 2,000 ranking points for the winners.
- P1 (ten events, including London), with 1,000 points for the winners.
- P2 (eleven smaller events), with 500 to 600 points.
- Premier Padel Finals in Barcelona for the top 16 in the men's and women's rankings, with 1,500 points.

The CUPRA FIP Tour
Below Premier Padel sits the CUPRA FIP Tour, run by the International Padel Federation. It has four categories: Platinum (300 points for the winners), Gold (150), Silver (80) and Bronze (40), plus the CUPRA FIP Finals (225). Source: Padel FIP: CUPRA FIP Tour categories and points. It gives players around the world a route to FIP ranking points, as with the FIP Bronze in Taunton.
How padel rankings work
FIP rankings combine results from Premier Padel, the CUPRA FIP Tour and other FIP events. A player's ranking is based on their best 22 results, and points count for 52 weeks. Source: CUPRA FIP Tour rulebook (PDF).
The British scene
In Britain, the LTA Padel British Tour is the top domestic competition, with Grade 1 and Grade 2 events over full weekends for prize money. For 2026 the LTA announced five FIP Tour events, seven Grade 1 events, 21 Grade 2 events and three FIP Promises junior tournaments, plus the LTA Padel National Championships.
